When Will I Ever Learn

                                          W/B Gary Brandin

I thought I’d won the prize the day I met you

I worked so hard and hoped you’d feel the same

I can’t win for loosin’ this broken heart I’ve earned

When will I ever learn

I get so mad at you for the way you treat me

I get so mad at me because I stay

I can’t help myself is it love that makes me burn

When will I ever learn

When will ever learn When will ever learn

About love

I thought I was so smart and I had won your heart

But now I see how much I need know

Oh you won’t give a damn if I walk right out that door

You’ll likely throw a party when I leave

But I’ll stay here a hopin’ that some day love will return

When will I ever learn

When will I ever learn When will I ever learn When will I ever learn About love

I’m No Good Without You

I’m no good without you

I’m worthless alone

My whole world is about you

The only real love I’ve known

I can’t make it without you

I can’t make it alone

I’m no good without you

I’m no good on my own

There’s so many way of hurting

So many ways to cry

Without you there’s no meaning

No reason now to try

I’m no good without you

I’m worthless alone

My whole world is about you

The only real love I’ve known

I’m no good without you

I’m worthless alone

My whole world is about you

The only real love I’ve known

I can’t make it without you

I can’t make it alone

I’m no good without you

I’m no good on my own

There’s so many times I’ve hurt you

So many times you’ve cried

But I can’t face what lies before me

Without you by my side

I’m no good without you

I’m worthless alone

My whole world is about you

The only real love I’ve known

I can’t make it without you

I can’t make it alone

I’m no good without you

I’m no good on my own

I’m no good without you

I’m no good on my own

I Know What’s Wrong

(But I Just Can’t Get It Right)

I work so hard to get it right, the simple things got out of sight

I lost it all before I ever knew

How much that I needed you and all the things we use to do

I know what’s wrong, but I just can’t get it right.

I’m sorry for some things I said; at times I think I loose my head

I never meant to ever make you cry

But it’s been hard to except, promises I never kept

I know what’s wrong, but I just can’t get it right.

Oh tell me now you still love me, like you did

You’re the only reason, I have left to live

Oh, Oh tell me now you still love me, cause I know

I know what’s wrong, but I just can’t get it right.

Turn Around

You know all the things I meant to say,

were lost in time and they got away

I never meant to ever, ever let’m slip my mind

I hope my love it’s not too late, I didn’t mean to make you wait

I know what’s wrong, but I just can’t get it right

Oh tell me now you still love me, like you did

Honey you’re the only reason, I have left to live

Oh, Oh tell me now you still love me, cause I know

I know what’s wrong, but I just can’t get it right

I know what’s wrong, but I just can’t get it right,

Oh get it right.

Our Shangrala

W/B Booker & Browne

I got a fifties kitchen table, about twenty years ago

Bought it thru the Pennysaver spent thirty bucks or so

Purchased a Kenmore washer dryer a refrigerator too

Bought’m on a credit card which I’ll no longer do

Got an ole victrola cabinet from a house we use to rent

Took out all the broken parts and put my stereo in it.

Got two oak coffee tables, for only fifteen bucks

Got’m when the kids were small and now their all scratched up

No nothen here is worth much but the memories are rich

We didn’t have much money, but we earned every stich

We didn’t work to keep up, with any of the Jone’s

No nothing here is worth much but it’s our Shangrala we own it

There’s a colorful pecoso hangen over the stove

We got it from a friend of ours who didn’t want it anymore

The wall  in the living room are lined with all the kids

All those little faces go from birth to adolescence

Now looken in the bedroom you’ll see an ole bed frame

I rescued from a backyard before it was thrown away.

The neighbors Grandpa died and we got the dressing table

Fixed the broken leg and now it’s really really stable

No nothen here is worth much, but the memories are rich

We didn’t have much money, but we earned every stitch

We didn’t work to keep up, with any of the Jone’s

No nothen here is worth much but it’s our Shangrala we own it

No nothen here is worth much but it’s our Shangrala we own it.

You Take Me For Granted

W/B Leona Williams

My legs and my feet have walked till they can’t hardly move, from trying to please you.

And my back is soar from bending over backwards,

To just lay the world at your door.

And I’m trying hard to put a smile on a sad face,

When deep down it’s breaking my heart.

And as sure as the sun shines I’ll be lifetime,

Not knowing if I done my part.

Cause you take me for granted, and it’s breaking my heart.

And as sure as the sun shines I’ll be a lifetime,

Not knowing if I done my part.

 Solo

And as sure as the sun shines I’ll spend a lifetime,

Not knowing if I done my part.

You

W/B Patty Booker 2002

Last night when you held me, I felt something new

I wasn’t dreaming about him, I was thinking about you

When I let him go that moment, I felt you in my heart

But it scared me to death, I’m so afraid to let it start

Cause you were not my first choice and I know I wasn’t yours

But somehow I found you on these rocky shores

I know that you miss her and I miss him too,

But I thank what I’ve been missen most is you

Last week when I left town, I felt something too

I wasn’t dreaming about her, I was thinking about you

I couldn’t wait to get back and hold you in my arms

But it scared me to death and I don’t know where to start

Cause you were not my first choice and I know I wasn’t yours

But somehow I found you, on these rocky shores

I know that you miss him and I miss her too

But I thank what I’ve been missin’ most is you

Maybe we should think about what we been thinkin’ of

Looks to me like it’s more than sex

Honey we’ve been makin’ love

I know that you miss her and I miss him too

But I thank what I’ve been missin’ most is you

I thank what I’ve been missin’ most is you.

Honey you, Baby you, Darlen you

Baby That Ain’t True

W/B Rick Shea and Patty Booker

What did you do, I saw you standing there

Both arms wrapped around her and your face against her hair

I felt just like a fool, my heart was caving in

When I saw my man, holding my best friend

It wasn’t me I wasn’t there that night, You must be wrong, you only wanna fight

That’s the truth you know I never lie, What do you mean? I got an alibi

Other girls don’t mean a thing to me, It was dark you probly couldn’t see

I heard she said that I came on to her, But baby that ain’t true

Oh I saw you there, Don’t tell your lies to me

You old Horny Mutt, Go piss up another tree

I don’t care what you do; I don’t believe what you say

I know what I saw, Please just go away

It wasn’t me I wasn’t there at all, You’ve got a grudge you wanna see me crawl

Oh baby please don’t turn and walk away, What do you need to have to hear me say

Yeah I was there but I was drunk that night, Oh baby please you know I hate to fight

I know I said that I would never cry, But baby that ain’t true

Solo

(Both verses sung together)

What did you do I saw you standing there

Both arms wrapped around her, you had your face against her hair

I felt just like a fool, cause I already knew

No matter what you say, Baby that aint true

It wasn’t me I wasn’t there that night, you must be wrong you only wanna fight

That’s the truth you know I never lie, what do you mean? I got an alibi

Other girls don’t mean a thing to me, it was dark you probly couldn’t see

I heard she said that I came on to her, But baby that ain’t true
